Summary[edit]

Description
English: A crew member with a radio supervises the lifting of an aircraft by crane, from the deck of the RAN Majestic aircraft carrier and troopship HMAS Sydney (III), at Vung Tau. The Sydney has transported soldiers of an unidentified Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) from Sydney, for a tour of duty in Vietnam. During the Vietnam War HMAS Sydney visited Vietnam on 24 occasions, transporting troops and equipment, and earning herself the name 'Vung Tau Ferry'.
