The Dutch inscription reads as follows:

Die lust heft te doen verlore wercken,

die stroyt die rosen voor de vercken.


The English translation:

He who pleasure in idle work doth take,

is like to strew roses before swine i’ faith’.


Perlen vor die Säue werfen ist verlorene Liebesmüh.


Don't throw your pearls to the pigs (Matthew 7.6-8)
