Summary[edit]

Description
English: Map of Europe with Finnish texts
Date between 1925 and 1928
date QS:P,+1925-00-00T00:00:00Z/8,P1319,+1925-00-00T00:00:00Z/9,P1326,+1928-00-00T00:00:00Z/9
Source From a 1925 encyclopedia, "Pieni Tietosanakirja", now in the public domain. Scanned in 300 dpi by Lars Aronsson, 2005. This map also available at https://runeberg.org/pieni/1/0471.html (which explains the somewhat cryptic filename).
Author Pieni Tietosanakirja

An interesting detail is that this map centers around en:Warsaw and the longitude 20 degrees east of Greenwich (Stockholm, Königsberg, Warsaw, Budapest, Belgrade, Tirana), whereas many modern (or late 20th century, anyway) maps of Europe (such as this one) seem to center around the longitude 10 degrees east of Greenwich (Oslo, Hamburg, Zurich, Milan, Tunis). This map covers all of Europe from Portugal to Ural, all of Turkey, and all of the Mediterranean, Black Sea, and Caspian Sea, and parts of the Persian Gulf.

Public domain This image is in the public domain because the Finnish Copyright law of 2005 specifies that all ”works of art” become public domain 70 years after the death of the creator, or 70 years after the date of publication of an anonymous work if the identity of the author was never disclosed within 70 years from publication.

Note: Photographs which are not considered to be works of art and are created before January 1, 1966 are in the public domain (§49a). See {{PD-Finland50}} for details. This template claims only that the image is public domain in Finland. An additional template should be included to explain why the image is public domain in the United States.
To uploader: If you know, please provide where the image was first published and who created it.
