A shy young woman hides her mouth and lower face behind a fan which is ornamented with a design incorporating foliage, berries & flowers.

Approx page size: 14.5" x 9.5" (370mm x 240mm)

From Four volumes bound in two. A collection of the 1888 and 1889 issues of the weekly art newspaper 'Pen and Pencil'. Volume I contains Volumes III and IV, published 1888. Volume III illustrated with eight colour plates, Volume IV illustrated with twenty-six plates, many of which are colour. Volume II contains Volumes V and VI, published 1889.
