| Description |
English: Great to be out and about in the sunshine today! Even better (from my point of view) a rather special series of trains running over the holiday called into Marks Tey station at just the right time for an early evening photoshoot. This is Jeremy Hoskings' personal train - he owns the coaches and the locomotives. Having taken him and his guests to Norwich yesterday, the empty stock ran down to Marks Tey Up Loop as 5S34, waited 20 minutes and then pulled into the station, whence it became 1G87 Express to Canterbury East! The train included the Pullman car "Pegasus" - this was the Trianon Bar in the famous Golden Arrow service from London to Dover and retains many original Art Deco fittings. The locomotives - "Flopsie" (leading) & "Great Rocks" (trailing) are as old as me, but were in fine form as they pulled away from Marks Tey, living up to their "Growler/Tractor" epithet. |
