Pawnee song about Cheyenne chief Touching Cloud (Iron Shirt)

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A Pawnee song to remember the killing of Cheyenne chief Touching Cloud during the summer, 1852. The chief attacked the Pawnees wearing a sort of armor hidden under his leather shirt, så the arrows did not harm him. Finally, the Pitahawirata Pawnee Shield Chief killed him by hitting him in an eye with a sacred, red arrow from a South Band bundle. The Pawnees saw the mailed shirt on the body and to remember this defeated Cheyenne they called him Iron Shirt. They composed a song about their victory.
