Description
Nederlands: Pastorie van Houtem-Veurne. Westgevel uit 1680. Gedeeltelijk omwald. Hier was het hoofdkwartier van het Belgisch leger vanaf februari 1915 tot eind october 1918. Hier vergaderde Koning Albert I met koning Georges van Engeland, koning Victor Emmanuel en de franse staatsman Boincarré. De pastorie heeft een fraaie toren dat ook nog de peperbustoren wordt genoemd. Vlaamse Rennaissancestijl. Hier verbleef Abt Christiaan Druve van de Sint-Niklaasabdij van Veurne en talrijke parochiepriesters. Heden is het een geklasserd gebouw en eigendom van een arts uit Rijsel. De foto werd door mij genomen in het jaar 1967. Herman De Rave. Deze foto werd ingezonden om geplaatst te worden bij het lemma van Houtem-Veurne.
