| Description |
English: This photo was taken during the last few days of operations for the well-known Marine Parade Popular outlet, which was one of the largest Popular outlets located by far in Singapore. The Marine Parade Popular outlet first took over the huge retail space on the second floor of Block 86 within Marine Parade Central in 1986. And since then it has created and built many memorable and fond memories for the residents living around the nearby estates as well as those who used to frequent or work for the Marine Parade Popular outlet.
Moving to this estate area in the mid of 2018 has enabled me to create my own memories of this place where I would frequently visit this outlet to purchase any necessities I might need for school or work since I was schooling in university back then all the way till now. I remembered many instances where I'd wait for my family members in the store where while I'm looking around at their collections of books, they will be getting groceries right opposite this block at the Marine Parade NTUC outlet. I could easily spend almost 1-2 hours at their retail store during the weekends. |
