Description
English: Paradise Site of Nature Conservation Importance This Site of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCI) lies on the former Newburn and Wylam railway line which was built in the 1870s and abandoned in the mid 20th century. A natural oasis sandwiched between the busy Scotswood Road and the River Tyne, it is home to 18 different species of butterflies in the spring and summer as well as a rich bird life and variety of wild flowers.
