English: Portrait of Maria Theresa of Savoy (1756-1805)
Italiano: "Il personaggio ritratto è identificabile con Maria Teresa di Savoia (1756-1805), figlia di Vittorio Amedeo III e moglie (1773) di Carlo (X) Borbone conte d'Artois, grazie al confronto con la replica in collezione privata pubblicata da N. Brancaccio/ M. A. Prolo (1930). E' invece errata l'identificazione con Maria Giuseppina contessa di Provenza, avanzata da C. Bertana/ G. Cambursano (1985), che attribuiscono il dipinto a Giovanni Panealbo. Tra i vari pagamenti al pittore torinese per ritratti della famiglia reale, riportati nelle Schede Vesme (1968, v. III, pp. 772-775), c'è anche quello del 1791 "per aver dipinto un quadro rappresentante la Duchessa D'Artois, per venir collocato nell'appartamento della Principessa Felicita £ 100" (p. 774)." [1]
