w leading through pineforest, now swinging round corners over-hanging a great gorge, this time of theKlamath River, which rises out of thelower end of Klamath Lake. An in-cident of this trip is the Topsy grade,which is very much appreciated by per-sons seeking after adventure. Some ten miles above Copco we passed 244 Pacific Service Magazine through Klamath Hot Springs, dear tothe heart of the fisherman the greaterpart of the year. Then about four mileslower down, we came upon Copco Lake,a sheet of water made by the dam atCopco which has had the effect of back- maintains its best and most up-to-datepower plant. The dam at present is 112feet in height above stream bed, thoughit is proposed to raise it fourteen feetmore. It is a concrete reinforced archdam and from this project two ten-foot penstockswhich carrythe water downto the powerhouse immedi-ately below.The powerhouse itselfwas designedby Mr. PerryCrawford andis up to date inevery particu-lar.
