The development ofelectric lighting resulted, naturally, in aconsiderable reduction of the gas loadand so the energetic gas men brought out however, and which has been muchtalked of lately, is the use of gas as afuel for heating. But the conservativegas man, who has proved the value ofhis product as a domestic fuel proposi-tion, wants to hold fast to it because heknows it is good. Another domestic field equally good, and almost every gas meter, we mightsay, is a prospect for the sale of gas asa fuel. Gas is the ideal fuel for heating. It isavailable instantly day or night by turn-ing a valve; paid for after it is used; asure supply at a fixed price. These are big points in favor of gas asfuel.
