Note: This historical image is not a factually accurate paleontological restoration. Reason: This "reconstruction" is entirely erroneous and should not be used. First, the animal in question was a far much heavier species (the plumpest known penguin species alive or extinct). Second, the color pattern is adopted 1:1 from Aptenodytes, which is a spheniscine genus; most spheniscines lack such coloration (i.e. it is an autapomorphy of Aptenodytes).
