Summary[edit]

Description
English: PS Medway Queen, 'The Heroine of Dunkirk' (HMS Medway Queen in WWII when it was converted to a Minesweeper), 316 grt, Gillingham Pier, 19 May 2021. Built by Ailsa Shipbuilding, Troon in 1924 for New Medway Steam Packet Co. who used it (apart from WWII) until 1964. It made 7 trips to Dunkirk and evacuated 7,000 troops and despite one of her paddle boxes being destroyed on her last voyage she limped home. She shot down 3 German aircraft during the evacuation.
