In altaar nr. 75 van kapel VIII. Gemerkt, onderaan; op middenpaneel : F.POURBUS INVENTOR ET PICTOR 1571.; Besteld door Viglius Aytta voor het altaar van zijn grafkapel ; ontsnapte aan de tweede beeldenstorm; in 1794 weggevoerd naar Parijs, in 1815 gerestitueerd. Gerestaureerd door R. Donselaer in 1859. De door R. De Pauw in 1895 ondernomen restauratie werd, wegens bezwaren, stopgezet. In 1900-1901, 1906 en 1935 is spraak van een noodzakelijke restauratie; gereinigd circa 1954-1959.; Buitenluiken : Christus Salvator Mundi en de knielende opdrachtgever Viglius, elk voor een ondiepe nis van zwart marmer. Viglius draagt de geborduurde koorkap met de legende van de H. Katharina, patrones van de wijsgeren (dezelfde koorkap op het grafbeeld van bisschop P. Damant, nr. 236); bidbankje met wapenschild, mijter; op de grond en kromstaf tegen de nislijst.; Inventaris van het Kunstpatrimonium van Oost-Vlaanderen, V: Sint-Baafskathedraal, Gent; door Dr Elisabeth Dhaenens, 1965. . .
