Summary[edit]

Description A U.S. Navy Lockheed P-3C Orion anti-submarine warfare aircraft flies over a Soviet Victor III nuclear-powered attack submarine a few hours after the submarine was spotted on the surface, approximately 750 km east of Charleston, South Carolina (USA). The P-3C, from Patrol Squadron 23 (VP-23) at Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine (USA), was operating from its deployed site at Naval Air Station Bermuda, when the submarine was detected.
