| Description | NORFOLK - For nearly two years a Norfolk District oyster reef has thrived in the Elizabeth River just off shore from the District's Waterfield building. The reef, built by Norfolk District employee-volunteers, and the oysters which have been grown by students at Seatack Elementary in Virginia Beach, Va., has been successful in filtering water and improving the overall ecosystem of the river.
