Description Fruiting bodies of the mossy maple polypore (Oxyporus populinus) on the sugar maple (Acer saccharum); Many cankers caused by Eutypella parasitica on sugar maple are also colonized by the decay fungus Oxyporus populinus. The latter usually has an upper surface covered with algae, giving it a distinct appearance; family Schizoporaceae
