English: Outbuilding adjacent to Knarsdale Hall Farmhouse This 17th century building is currently an agricultural store, formerly offices and lodgings to the Hall. Although not described as such, the solid construction and small window openings bring to mind a Bastle, or fortified farmhouse - common in the region. The 17th century hall itself is located 20 metres to the south. More information can be found on the Images of England site (ID no. 40275). http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk Photo taken from the public road which runs adjacent to the property. |
