Summary[edit]

Description

ThELeadinBRnHEnmwBFBnfAmBnnH.TfieDINGEE 6G0NARD Q. 31
Cbe Queen of all pink
6arden Roses
MAMAN COCHET.
Another year of carefal tests and
/ observations convinces us that for
^ real satisfaction this is perhaps the best
Pink Rose for open-ground cultivation.
It is hardly ever without flowers. Many
of the popular pink Roses, while highly
meritorious and satisfactory, appear to a dis-
advantage alongside of this new French variety.
Such beauty and exquisite form as is possessed by
Maman Cochet is well-nigh marvelous and can-
not be seen in any other Rose we know. The buds
are beautiful, large, full and firm and elegantly pointed ;
as they expand the petals show great depth and richness,
sometimes measuring two-and-a-half inches from base
to tip. The flower is superb when open, extra laree,
perfectly double, and of splendid substance, small
pot plants when planted in open ground quickly make
large, strong bushes that produce, on long, stiff stems,
great numbers of perfect flowers that are enchanting in fra-
grance and delicate brightness.
OF ITS COLOR
it need only be said that it is a clear, rich pink, changing to silvery rose.
It is a strong, healthy grower, absolutely free from disease. Blooms
constantly and profusely ; is hardy with ordmary protection. It is the
queen of all pink garden Roses.
As we see it, one good Rose like Maman Cochet is worth a whole
collection of poor ones — at any price. This new variety has unusual
value, and we consider it one of the best ever-blooming Tea Roses in
cultivation, Mons. Cochet, the originator, refused one thousand
dollars for the original stock of a few plants. Its worth is not over-
estimated. If you want a Rose that will give you satisfaction from the day
it is planted, we would urge you to plant extensively of Mamax Cochet.
Strong three=inch pot plants, 15 cts. each ; 2 for 25 cts.; 4 for
50 cts.; 10 for $1, postpaid by Mail. Price by Express, 25 for
$2; $6 per 100.
Strong two=year=old plants, extra good, will produce immense
quantities of flowers all through the season, by Express only,
30 cts. each ; 4 for $1 ; 10 for $2.25 ; 25 for $5.
WHITE MAMAN COCHET.
This superb variety is identical with its parent, MamaN Cochet, a queen
among pink garden Roses, except in color of flower, which is snowy white, some-
times faintly tinged with the faintest suggestion of pale blush. It has the same
freedom of bloom, magnificent form of buds and flowers which is marvelously
beautiful in i:s perfection. Of unusually heavy texture, making it of more than ordinary value in the
open ground. It has the vigor of an oak with heavy foliage, which is impervious to disease ; hardy
with protection.
15 cts. each; 3 for 35 cts.; 4 for 50 cts.; 9 for SI, postpaid by Mail.
\ 30 cts. eacli ; 4 for $1, by Express ; $3 per dozen.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
