Description
Español: Ostensorio de San Juan Nepomuceno y otros objetos del tesoro de la catedral de Sevilla, (España). La descripción es la siguiente:
  • 1. Vinajeras donadas por el rey Luis Felipe I de Francia. Fueron realizadas en el siglo XIX en el Taller Montaguy.
  • 2. Naveta. Es una obra anónima del siglo XVIII.
  • 3. Ostensorio de San Juan Nepomuceno. Fue adquirido en Roma por el cardenal Francisco de Solís y Folch de Cardona (1713-1775), que fue obispo de Córdoba y arzobispo de Sevilla, y debió ser realizado en un taller romano, según consta en una inscripción colocada en él, unos cinco años antes de que fuera adquirido por el cardenal Solís. Esta obra ingresó en el tesoro de la catedral de Sevilla en 1780, y también es conocida con el nombre de Ostensorio grande, aunque es mayormente conocido como ostensorio de San Juan Nepomuceno por la imagen de este santo colocada en el astil y por algunas escenas de su vida representadas en la base.
  • 4. Cáliz de oro, vinajeras, campanilla y salvilla. Fueron realizados en el siglo XVIIII por el orfebre cordobés Damián de Castro, y el cáliz de oro fue donado a la catedral hispalense por el cardenal Francisco Javier Delgado Venegas, que fue arzobispo de Sevilla.
  • 5. Incensario de oro. Fue realizado en el siglo XVIII por el orfebre Antonio Méndez y donado a la catedral de Sevilla por el comerciante Manuel Paulín de la Barrera, siendo estrenado por primera vez en la procesión del Corpus Christi de 1791.
