| Description |
English: Image of the seal for "Rusk Memorial Chapel," U.S Navy Recruit Training Center, Orlando. Base closed as a result of Base Realignment and Closure decision, but this 1992 article describes the creation of this symbol for the chapel as an official Navy (Chaplain) initiative. Background information from article, "Outreach effort makes chaplains' message ring clear for recruits," "Navigator," Nov 19, 1992: Chaplain Arnold Resnicoff, Director of Recruit Ministries, asked Mr. Charles Smith, one of RTC Orlando's ombudsmen (and a graphic artist) to come up with a logo. Chaplain Randall Parr made the final chapel sketch, and Rabbi Resnicoff contributed the message, "Chapel helps you make it through boot bamp; faith helps you make it through life." Susan Marcus, at MWR's Shirt Design studio,used computer art to add the final touches. |
