Summary[edit]

Deutsch: Schema des Schwänzeltanzes der Bienen. Die Biene scheint dabei ein kurzes Stück geradeaus zu laufen und kehrt auf einem Bogen zum Ausgangspunkt zurück. Der Schwänzeltanz heißt so, weil die Bienen, während sie die Gerade durchlaufen, ihren Hinterleib rhythmisch hin- und herbewegen, also schwänzeln. Die Biene steht während der Schwänzelphase mit den Füßen fest auf dem Untergrund, vorzugsweise den Rändern leerer Wabenzellen. Der Rücklaufbogen wird abwechselnd nach rechts und links ausgeführt. Der Winkel der Geraden zur Senkrechten entspricht dem Winkel zur Sonne, den die Bienen einhalten müssen, um zur Futterquelle zu kommen. Die Länge der Schwänzelphase bestimmt die Entfernung der Futterquelle.
