This diagram was created with SageMath.
Description
English: An order 31 magic square, where each number is converted to base five and displayed as a group of four concentric squares, with each colour corresponding to a different digit. This is similar to Magic Square 25 Study by Margaret Kepner. It was created with the following Sage code:
import numpy

def colours(a):
    parts = Integer(a).digits(5, padto=4)
    b = matrix(QQ, 5, 5, [parts[0]] * 25)
    b[1:4, 1:4] = matrix(QQ, 3, 3, [parts[1]] * 9)
    b[2, 2] = [parts[2]]
    return b

numpy.vstack(map(numpy.hstack,[map(colours, a) for a in magic(31)])) # requires magic square generator; see http://pydoc.net/magic_square/0.2/magic_square
