Note about the photo[edit]
This Ophthalmic Ultrasound System, developed at Stanford University in 1977 by Dr. Alan Susal, had a computer-controlled front panel (replacing the front panel of the Cromemco Z-2 computer) with a display screen and controls. The display screen showed images of longitudinal sections of the human eye. All aspects of the machine operation and data acquisition were under control of the Cromemco processor.[1] Distance measurements in the eye could be made to 0.1 mm precision.[2]
