| Description |
English: On the moor between the Barvas Road and Loch a Ghainmhich This is honestly where this picture was taken though as many will know this image could work just as well for the majority of squares on Lewis. The rather barren nature of the moorland can be clear seen and, as is clear, this part of the moor is quite stable and dry. As you can see from the map the area to the north, "Blar nam Faoileag," is very wet indeed and is extremely dangerous. Much of the moorland in this area is dangerous with large holes, wet areas and swamps. Many even small water filled holes that look like you could just splash through them are deeper than my 11 foot fishing rod is long. |
