Description
English: The two dots of the modern German umlaut is a reminiscence from two vertical parallel lines which are again a reminiscence of a Gothic hand-written e above the letter. Samples in Danish.
Dansk: Omlydsprikkerne stammer fra parallelle streger, der er en reminiscens af et håndskrevet gotisk e, der blev skrevet oven over bogstavet. Omlydsprikker og omlydsstreger og et overstillet e er altså det samme!
