Summary[edit]

Description
English: Egypt Railways 2-2-2 steam locomotive (Robert Stephenson Locomotive Works, 1868). One of the two new Robert Stephenson 2-2-2 steam locomotives delivered to Egypt in 1868. At the 1867 Paris Exhibition, Stephenson's locomotive (works Nr. 2012) was immaculately turned out and the Egyptian Railway Administration took ownership soon after the end of the fair. The picture seems to show the exhibition hall itself, which had a characteristic oval shape. Other locomotives can be seen behind the Egyptian locomotive.
