With its vistas of polishedpipes of all sizes, some of them gleaming likesilver, the organ arrests the eye at once on entering feet, the shorter length is i8o feet, and there is adistance of 140 feet between the floor of the arenaand the dome. The spaces over the porches on the east andwest sides of the hall have been in each casearranged as a lecture theatre, having a raised floor,with a platform or stage, and holding about 200people.
