Summary[edit]

Description
English: The old York County Prison in York County, just east of the city of York, in Pennsylvania. 6 stories tall it dominates the area. It was abandoned in 1979.

Built in 1906, 30,000 square feet. It was designed by architect B.F. Willis, and had a trap door where hangings took place.

Purchased in 1982 by John and Joyce Gearhart. In 2007, the prison was listed for sale for $3.9 million.
