Summary[edit]

Description
English: Tower of the former St Matthew's parish church, Lightcliffe, West Yorkshire. The church was built in 1775 but fell into disrepair and was replaced by a newer St Matthew's church further west along Wakefield Road late in the 19th century. The older church was demolished in 1969 but Ivor Bulmer-Thomas, Chairman of the Redundant Churches Fund and founder of the Friends of Friendless Churches managed to save the tower.
