Summary[edit]
DescriptionOld Mill Workers Cottages Summerseat - geograph.org.uk - 326104.jpg |
English: Old Mill Workers Cottages Summerseat These former mill workers cottages ,at the bottom of Hill Street, were built in the early 1800s to meet the demand for housing due to the large number of workers needed at the local mills in Summerseat.
In the past some of the buildings on this street were also the shops of what was once a local thriving community. If you were to carry on up the hill ,past the parked car, you would come to 324111 on the left hand side. During the 1600 and 1700's Summeseat did not exist as a village it was just a few odd cottages here and there.
