Deutsch: Beispiele für verschiedene Typen von Erdöl- und Erdgasfallen: im Kern von Antiklinalstrukturen, an Verwerfungen (Störungen), an den Flanken von Salzstöcken und stratigraphische Fallen (hier eine Winkeldiskordanz). Man beachte, dass die in Hellblau und Schwarz gekennzeichneten Bereiche in den Grafiken keine gas- bzw. ölgefüllten „Höhlen“ darstellen, sondern gas- bzw. ölgesättigtes Speichergestein.
English: Examples of different forms of hydrocarbon traps: in the core region of anticlines, at faults, at the flanks of salt domes, and stratigraphic traps (here an angular unconformity). Note that the areas rendered in light blue and black in the diagram do not represent gas- and oil-filled “caves” but gas- and oil-saturated reservoir rock.
