Summary[edit]

Description
English: Examples of different forms of hydrocarbon traps: in the core region of anticlines, at faults, at the flanks of salt domes, and stratigraphic traps (here an angular unconformity). Note that the areas rendered in light blue and black in the diagram do not represent gas- and oil-filled “caves” but gas- and oil-saturated reservoir rock.
