| Description |
The oculus is the primary source of light for the Pantheon. The concrete of the coffered dome uses different aggregate stones in higher layers of the dome. This decreases the weight in addition to presence of coffers and the oculus, which would also decrease the weight of the dome and the stress running down to the building's cylinder. |
