Description
English: Crop of: 060602-N-8637R-010 Lagos, Nigeria (June 2, 2006) - Commanding Officer USS Barry (DDG 52), Cmdr. Jeffrey Wolstenholme, presents the Oba of Nigeria, with a ship's plaque during the ship's visit. The Oba is a spiritual leader in Nigerian culture with the respect of royalty. While in port, USS Barry will participate in events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy. The port visit and participation in the "Golden Jubilee” is the latest in a series of engagements involving several Gulf of Guinea nations designed to strengthen enduring and emerging partnerships and support maritime safety and security measures.
