Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Aramaic inscription on the base of the statute states that it was commissioned by Abu Bint Jablo's husband in her memory and that she was assassinated for an unknown reason under vague circumstances at the age of 18. The inscription also curses those who defame her and who are happy for her death. The base is composed of two stone blocks. The jewelry, attire, and accessories were carefully carved. Her left hand rests on the left knee and holds what appears to be a spindle and wool. The right arm is raised in salutation. From the 4th temple at Hatra, Ninawa Governorate, Iraq. Parthian period, 2nd to 3rd century CE. On display at the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, Iraq.
