Description
Español: Mecanismo de inserción de ADN mitocondrial en el núcleo de una célula eucariota (o numtogénesis), dando lugar a NUMT (nuclear mitochondrial DNA segment). La mitofagia es un mecanismo que controla la calidad de las mitocondrias en la célula mediante la degradación de las disfuncionales. La alteración de la mitocondria por una mutación en Yme1 produce la acumulación de ADNmt no digerido en el citoplasma que finalmente se inserta en el núcleo, proceso conocido como numtogénesis.
