| Description |
English: A view of North Lake in Las Animas County, Colorado. The three mountains at the left of the picture are part of the Culebra Range and include, from left to right, Mariquita Peak, Mount Maxwell and Cuatro Peak. North Lake, actually a reservoir, receives water from the North Fork of the Purgatoire River via a small diversion dam and a pipe. The area around the reservoir is part of the North Lake State Wildlife Area. A part of the Dokata Formation (known locally as The Stonewall) is visible in the center of the picture. |
