Description
Norsk bokmål: Polarlandskap. Isen er nesten ufremkommelig for hunder og kjelker. Nansen kalte bildet «Et størknet hav». Ett av bildene fra ekspedisjonen med polarskip mot Nordpolen i perioden 24 juni 1893 til 13 august 1896. Etter planen skulle skipet drive i isen med havstrømmer fra Sibirkysten over Nordpolen mot Grønland. Sted avbildet: Polhavet
English: Arctic landscape. The ice is almost impossible to cross both for dogs and sledges. Nansen called the picture «A stiffened ocean.» One of the pictures from the expedition with arctic ship toward the North Pole in the period June 24, 1893 to August 13, 1896. According to the plan, the ship was to drift in the ice with the ocean current from the coast of Siberia across the North Pole to Greenland.
Deutsch: Polarlandschaft. Das Eis ist fast nicht überwindbar für die Hunde und Schlitten. Eines der Bilder von der Expedition mit dem Polarschiff zum Nordpol in der Zeit 24. Juni 1893 bis 13. August 1896. Nach dem Plan sollte das Schiff im Eis mit den Meeresströmungen von der sibirischen Küsten über den Nordpol nach Grönland treiben.
Español: Paisaje polar. El hielo es casi intransitable para los perros y trineos. Nansen llamó la foto «Un mar solidificado». Una de las fotos de la expedición con la nave polar hacia el Polo Norte en el periodo entre el 24 de junio 1893 al 13 de augosto 1896. Según los planes, el barco iba a estar a la deriva en el hielo y dejarse llevar por las corrientes marinas desde la costa de Siberia hacia Groenlandia.

This is according to § 23 in the Norwegian Åndsverkloven.

Under the former photo law, protection ended 25 years after creation, provided that more than 15 years had passed since the photographer's death or the photographer is unknown. The image is in the public domain if the protection ended before 29 June 1995 under the older term.[1]
