    • Appears to be a casualty of the 1939-45 war. Fergusson Street seems to have disappeared.

START THIS YEAR.
NEW POST OFFICE.
WELLESLEY STREET SITE.
FIVE-STOREYED BUILDING.
Erection of a new five-storeyed post office of striking design at the corner of Wellesley Street West and Fergusson Street is expected to be begun this year. Plans and drawings are being prepared for final approval before an estimate of the cost is made and tenders are called.

The site for the new building has an area of 6681 square feet and dimensions of 51 feet to Wellesley Street and 131 feet to Fergusson Street. A sum of about £9000 was paid by the Government to the Auckland City Council last year for the site, which has already been cleared.
