Description
English: New Orleans central business district from the air, 1922, looking towards the bend of the Mississippi River around Algiers Point.


The recently completed Hibernia Bank Building with its distinctive cupola is at center of the photo. The soon to be demolished old neo-Gothic Masonic Building at St. Charles & Perdido visible to the right and above the Hibernia building intact. Large building at lower right is DeSoto Hotel (now Le Pavillion); note how it fronted Baronne Street before the widening of Poydras Street.
