"A Few Ring Signs Seen on Canal and Bourbon Streets on Election Day, September 14, 1920" New Orleans, Louisiana. Photograph looking to the downriver side of Canal Street a short distance riverward of the intersection of Bourbon Street. The posters advocate re-election of mayor Martin Behrman (who lost the office in this election to challenger Andrew J. McShane). In the background can be seen store fronts, the back of a delivery wagon, and 3 period automobiles (one mostly obscured behind the "ring sign". |
