| Description |
English: Near Loch Buaile Cairistiona Mhurchaidh This long name means 'the loch of Christina Murdoch's cattle fold'. It cannot have been easy for the eponymous Christina to eke out a living raising cattle on this terrain. The cnoc-and-lochan topography is typical of the Lewisian gneiss, with rocky hummocks and small lochs of convoluted shape between, and not much in the way of grazing. Low cloud obscures the hills in the background. |
