Description
English: Photo taken at the Lofoten War Memorial Museum (Norwegian: Lofoten Krigsminnemuseum) in Svolvær, Norway's largest exhibition of uniforms and smaller items related to the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway 1940 – 1945:
  • Uniform of a leader or officer of the Reich/State Labour Service (German: Reichsarbeitsdienst, RAD) in Nazi Germany (the Third Reich):
    • Peaked cloth service cap (Tuchmutze, "Arsch mit Griff") with RAD emblem (sheaves, spade head, swastika). Traditional farmer's style hat (althochdeutsch Spessartmütze).
    • Tunic (Waffenrock) with pockets, cuffs and closed collar. Earthbrown-coloured with chocolate brown collar.
    • Emsland district cufftitle (Ärmelstreife). This cuff title was worn by units assigned to the Emsland project (Emslandkultivierung), a reclamation operation for marshy land in northwest Germany.
    • Crossbelt ("Sam Browne belt") with RAD emblem on belt buckle
    • RAD dagger/hewer (Haumesser) in scabbard on hanger
RAD forces helped org.Todt in German occupied Norway during World War II.
