1. Uniform of a leader in the German Reich Labour Service (RAD) (Unterfeldmeister der Reichsarbeitsdienst): service cap (Tuchmütze, 'textile cap'); gorget with motto Arbeit adelt ('work ennobles [the soul]') and RAD's 'swastika on shovel' insignia (RAD Ringkragen/Brustschild für Fahnenträger); Nazi Party (NSDAP) membership pin; Gautag Ost-Hannover 1939 pin; Gausiger 1938 Hitlerjugend pin; 3. Internat. Luftrennen 1940 pin; Swastika armband; RAD officer's Emsland district cufftitle (a commemorative insignia); belt and crossbelt ('Sam Browne belt') with RAD emblem on buckle; RAD dagger (hewer, i. e. large stag-gripped knife with a Bowie-style blade).

The Reich Labour Service (Reichsarbeitsdienst; RAD) was a major organisation established in Nazi Germany as an agency to help mitigate the effects of unemployment on the German economy, militarise the workforce and indoctrinate it with Nazi ideology. It was the official state labour service, divided into separate sections for men and women. RAD personell helped org. Todt, the Third Reich civil and military engineering organisation, with its construction projects and use of forced labour (POWs) in Norway during WWII.

2.To the left is a full-dress ceremonial parade uniform of a major in the German army (Wehrmacht): a tunic (Waffenrock M35) with officer's aiguillette (Achselschnur), German national emblem insignia (Reichsadler, 'imperial eagle', as Brustadler or Brustvogel, 'chest bird', on uniform), and Litzen ('ornamental cords' insignia) and Ärmelpatten ('sleeve tabs') on cuffs.
