| Description |
English: This is an old naval mine, which was found in the North Atlantic Ocean by a Faroese vessel. I don't remember which ship found it. It is now located in Vágur, a village on Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. I don't know about its origin, but when I look at photos on the internet, it looks very similar to an American type of naval mines, which were used in World War I, they are called "Moored contact mine Mk.6" (accrding to the website www.history.navy.mil (US Navy Museum). The Faroe Islands are located in the North Atlantic Ocean between Scotland, Iceland and Norway.
