Конец XV — начало XVI века. Ростово-суздальская школа.

Окутанная лиловато-коричневым мафорием повернутая вправо Богоматерь лежит на красном ложе среди светлых, зеленовато-желтых скал с белыми лещадками. В композицию введены указывающие на звезду волхвы, едущие слева вверху вслед за ангелом. Справа вверху левый ангел поклоняется яслям пещеры, а правый вещает трубящему в рог пастуху. Внизу слева бес искушает Иосифа, а справа жены омывают младенца. Фигуры тонкие, преувеличенно удлиненные. Вохрение по оливковому санкирю красновато-коричневой охрой. Основные цвета красочной гаммы: неяркие зеленые и коричневые тона в сочетании с киноварью. Фон голубой. У нижнего края большая вставка нового левкаса. Поля перечищены.

Доска липовая, шпонки врезные, встречные. Сорочка желтой бумажной камки XIX века. Паволока, левкас, яичная темпера. 59 × 47.

Поступила из отделения ГФ в Новодевичьем монастыре в 1934 году.
