The mapwas drawn and engraved to accompany the Rev. William Hubbardsbook on the Indian Wars. Of that work there are two editions. The first, entitled A Narrative of the Troubles with the Indians in NewEnglandy was published at Boston in 1677. The second, entitledThe Present State of New England, being a Narrative of the Troubleswith the Indians in New England, was published in London the sameyear. Both are now rare; not quite twenty-five copies of the firstare known. But there are also two editions of the map, which it iscustomary to distinguish from enarrativesofindi14linc
