An inscription taken from the Temple of Isis at Pompeii. CIL 10, 846 = ILS 6367 = SIRIS 482 = RICIS 2, 504/0202 = PompIn 32 = AE 2000, 297 N(umerius) Popidius N(umeri) f(ilius) Celsinus / aedem Isidis terrae motu conlapsam / a fundamento p(ecunia) s(ua) restituit hunc decuriones ob liberalitatem / cum esset annorum sexs ordini suo gratis adlegerunt Numerius Popidius Celsinus, son of Numerius, restored from its foundations with his own money the temple of Isis after it had collapsed in the earthquake [of 62 CE]. On account of his liberality, the town councilors elected him to their order for free when he was six years old. Such claims of restoring the temple from its foundations are likely exaggerated because parts of earlier forms of the temple were found intact by excavators: Nicole Blanc, Hélène Eristov, and Myriam Fincker.
