Summary[edit]

Description
English: Letter dated 13 August 1926, from Henri Reymond for Chief of the Refugee Service at the League of Nations International Labour Office, Genève to Fridtjof Nansen, Norway 13 August 1926, with "Nansen passport renewal stamp", on display in the National Library of Norway in Oslo 2021.

Nansen passports, originally and officially stateless persons passports, were internationally recognized refugee travel documents from 1922 to 1938, first issued by the League of Nations to stateless refugees. They quickly became known as "Nansen passports" for their promoter, the Norwegian statesman and polar explorer Fridtjof Nansen.

Norsk bokmål: Fra utstilling om Nansenpasset i Nasjonalbiblioteket i Oslo: Brev fra Henri Reymond (for Chief of the Refugee Service ved Société des nations Bureau international du travail / League of Nations International Labour Office, Genève) til Dr. Fridtjof Nansen (Lysaker, Norway) 13. august 1926 med Nansen-frimerke verdi «5 Gold Fr.» Eier: Nasjonalbiblioteket.
